Bottom dump trailers, also known as belly dumps, are ideal for precise material distribution thanks to their dump gate design. The dump gates open from the bottom of the trailer box, allowing for controlled windrowing of materials like asphalt, crushed rock, sand, and other debris. With their rugged steel construction engineered for severe duty hauling, bottom dumps can efficiently deliver 21-yard loads in a 25-foot dump zone.

Their design provides good stability since there is no tipping gate to raise. However, bottom dumps do have some limitations. Their axle clearance and potential for material hang-ups restrict what they can haul. They also cannot handle liquids or fine materials that would leak from the gates. When controlled material distribution in a durable and quick-unloading trailer is needed, bottom dump trailers are an excellent choice.
