Idealease Safety Bulletin - Announcement: Safety Seminars Cancelled through May 21st + Expanded FMCSA declaration information

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Idealease Safety and Compliance Seminars co-sponsored by the National Private Truck Council scheduled through May 21st have been cancelled.  This includes our Aurora, CO Safety Seminar scheduled for Thursday, May 7th at our McCandless Truck Center location.  The decision was made to protect the health and well-being of employees, customers and supporting suppliers during this uncertain time.  

As of right now, the summer and fall seminars are still scheduled and will be presented as planned. Notifications of any rescheduled spring/summer seminars will be sent out at a later date once they are finalized.  For those that are rescheduled, you can expect a date sometime in Fall 2020.  

FMCSA Expands Emergency Declaration for Coronavirus Relief Efforts to Include Deliveries of Additional Products on March 18th, 2020:

  • Now includes relief for deliveries of fuel, non-food grocery items, raw materials for exempted products and other additional items 
  • Direct assistance does not include routine commercial deliveries - including mixed loads with some emergency relief items. 

Motor carriers and drivers providing such relief are exempt from the provisions of 49 CFR Parts 390-399, but would still be subject to controlled substances and alcohol use and testing requirements (49 CFR Part 382), the commercial driver's license requirements (49 CFR Part 383), financial responsibility (insurance) requirements (49 CFR Part 387), hazardous material regulations (49 CFR Parts 100-180), and applicable vehicle size and weight requirements.

The exemption is in effect immediately and will remain in effect until the emergency has ceased or 11:59 p.m. on April 12, 2020, whichever is earlier.
