Two of our McCandless Truck Center Service Managers, Andrew Myers(Grand Junction) and Aaron Hunter(Colorado Springs), took a trip out to the Clearfield, UT Job Corps Center this week to tour the facility and present to 50+ students, training and placement staff.

Both Andrew and Aaron enjoyed the opportunity to meet with the students and observe the Job Corp program firsthand. It was great to see how Job Corps thoroughly prepares their students for the workforce with their advanced vocational training programs. From the body shop to the truck shop - the tools, trucks, test engines, and education provided is impressive to say the least. Through the Job Corp, students not only have the opportunity to learn how to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles from several manufacturers, but receive in-depth training where they must be proficient on a number of platforms and applications

The demand for diesel technicians is always growing in the commercial transportation industry and it was definitely exciting to see so many students interested in and dedicated to fine-tuning their skill set and turning it into a rewarding career. Both Andrew and Aaron not only enjoyed being able to share some details about our McCandless family of dealerships, but appreciated the students’ questions about the company and industry as a whole.

McCandless Truck Center is thankful for the opportunity to get an inside look at the Job Corps operations and looks forward to our developing relationship with the Clearfield Job Corps Center. Thank you to Andrew and Aaron for taking the time to meet with the students and staff and present on behalf of the company.
