McCandless Truck Center proudly supports and participates in the American Public Works Association's Western Snow and Ice Conference each year held in Loveland, CO. As a Major Sponsor of the show, we always send some of our own industry professionals to share their knowledge of our International Truck products and dealership services. The theme of this year's show was 'The Future of Snow Operations' and presented a number of networking opportunities, training and educational sessions, as well as great insight from a few featured speakers.

This year was a little different as we had Navistar's Heavy Duty Segment Marketing Director , Jim Nachtman out to kick off the show and speak about the International A26 engine. Jim had a very informative presentation and question and answer session and we couldn't thank him enough for sharing his knowledge and expertise on behalf of McCandless Truck Center! Learn more about the A26 Engine here: https://bit.ly/2Z9abd0 and be sure to reach out to our sales team at 303-739-9900 if we can answer any questions.

We also had a selection of our impressive International Trucks on display at the event.  With over 1,100 industry professionals, drivers, operators, mechanics, and the like in attendance, the show was a great success.  Check out a few photos of the event below. We look forward to next year's show!

About the APWA Colorado Chapter:

The Colorado Chapter of the American Public Works Association was started in 1962 by several key public works professionals. Their scholarship program began in 1963 after the passing of one of the founding members, Jim Murray. The college scholarship program was created for aspiring engineers who were interested in the Public Works sector. To this day that scholarship is still going strong and over the years has provided many future leaders with that extra financial help to reach their goals.

In February of 1983, the West Slope Branch of the Colorado Chapter was formed to allow members on the west side of the Continental Divide address issues that are unique to their municipalities and counties. In October 2014, the Rocky Mountain Public Works Institute held their first sessions.  The Institute provides a regional program that educates and elevates public works employees, helping them achieve their management and leadership potential through interactive classes taught by experienced public works officials.

Over the years it has been the philosophy of the Chapter to function through committees instead of a large general membership. The Colorado Chapter has over 700 members to date and continues its mission to provide training and support to public works officials throughout the great State of Colorado.
